WEIGHBRIDGE AND SECURITY BUILDING

Newcastle, NSW 2007

Responsible for design and documentation

Program This building operates as a control point for site entry. Security personnel sit within the head of the structure which allows observation of passing traffic. This part of the building is under-slung much like the cabin of a building crane, sandwiched between the precast concrete wall panels.

The building provides its own water supply, the concrete tank at the rear being used as a structural element. The form of the building is meant to give an impression of surveillance and authority. You are observed by the building itself.
